inLighten and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Reach Agreement

Digital Signage Leader to Include CBC News Content in Specialized Programming

Aug. 18, 2011

inLighten®, a world leader in the field of digital signage, announced that it has reached a licensing agreement with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for use of its news content in conjunction with inLighten's specialized iTV™ news service. iTV is viewed each day as part of a rapidly expanding digital signage network maintained by inLighten across North America and internationally.

According to inLighten's Director of New Business Ventures, Dave Saleh, "This agreement with CBC News establishes another relationship between the leading provider of digital media networks and a world renowned news organization. Our alliance with CBC News will further enhance the quality and broaden the coverage of inLighten's content offerings."

inLighten's specialized programming for digital signage employs a propriety formula incorporating demographic modeling, content filtering and editorial oversight to ensure a presentation that produces sustained audience participation. Jennifer Olsen, inLighten's Manager of Content Services, pointed out that inLighten consistently achieves viewership penetration of well over 90% due to its rigorous attention to content development, including audience research, topic coverage, story selection, length, prose style and use of dynamic, broadcast quality visual design. Olsen also suggested that organizations using other providers may find viewership deteriorating because their chosen vendors don't focus on setting high standards for the quality of their content offerings.

inLighten partly credits superior viewership development for the record number of institutions that switched to its services from other providers during the first half of this year. inLighten SVP Doug Braun commented that, "when companies are disappointed with the results of their digital signage initiatives, it's usually because the provider is giving them a narrow range of content selections from second and third-tier sources featuring poorly written stories with limited interest to viewers. Because most vendors don't have a carefully formulated and proven methodology focused on the client's objectives, inLighten has been able to deliver substantial gains in productivity and increase clients' understanding of the true potential of this powerful medium."

inLighten officials further stated that the company's future plans include introduction of content programming in languages other than English and continued expansion into a variety of new markets.
